One of my mother’s best friends owns an extremely high end, beautiful store in Pacific Palisades called Elyse Walker. Not only is the store one of the best clothing and shoe stores in the entire country (if not the world), Elyse throws an event every year called “The Pink Party” which raises money for the Cedars-Sinai Women’s Cancer Research Institute.

This week has been an emotional rollercoaster because I am taking my daughter to college in NYC on Tuesday. I am so excited for her and for all the amazing opportunities life has in store for her, but my heart is broken and the truth is I have been crying every day since her high school graduation and drowning myself in ice cream. I didn’t see it coming. When did she become an adult? Where does the time go? Why so fast? I knew one day she would be going to college. Isn’t it every parent’s dream? I knew that she would eventually be leaving, but somehow I was hoping to keep her little a little longer.

Do you remember those YSL Purple Asymmetric Mary Janes that I reviewed recently and couldn’t get because for some crazy and still unknown reason Neiman Marcus wouldn’t ship them to California! Seriously who besides women in California would wear a pair of Purple Suede Mary Janes? Oh, ok I hear you! Sorry! Correction: most shoe goddesses regardless of the state they live in would wear those shoes!
