The gel holds the insert in place, but they are easily removable, with no damage to your shoes. I was skeptical that they would make any difference, but amazingly, they felt great! I applied them in a pair of 5-inch pumps, and they really did make a difference, and the gel felt great on my feet! I’ll definitely be buying more of these for all of my uncomfortable shoes.
