I usually adore Yves Saint Laurent shoes, but I have a difficult time understanding what statement these jagged platform pumps are trying to make? Maybe somehow these shoes are a tribute to our troops? Or maybe they are just designed to meet the needs of women living in the urban jungle?

Desirable: Christian Louboutin Miss Dina Sandals
If there was a pair of sandals that could be matched with any outfit and still be trendy 10 years from now, it would be these fabulous Loubies. OK, I know. It's python, but once and a while let's break the rules and indulge in beautiful shoes guilt-free!

Affordable: Report Signature Newbury Platform Sandal
I think what I like the most about these sandals is their Marni look (at a cheaper price). I like the sleek look and glossy patent, not to mention the beautiful color. They are definitely a fall must-have, especially at this price!

Repulsive: Robert Clergerie CrissCross Mule
I think I am having a nightmare!! These shoes seems to come straight from Silas's closet (the masochist and somewhat psychopath albino monk from the Da Vinci Code). So, unless you plan on joining the Opus Dei soon, avoid these shoes at all costs!

Peep-toes continue to be all the rage for fall, and I love that it’s now chic to wear them with tights! Black and gray tights are obvious, but I also encourage you to mix it up with some fun patterns or even bright colors.
Here are some of my favorite affordable peep-toes!

Paris Hilton Destiny Pump $93 ZapposYves Saint Laurent has come out with some incredibly beautiful and sexy shoes this season, but unfortunately these shoes do not fit that description! I compare the sleek and elegant Tribute Double-Platform Pump to these sandals and just wonder “why??” The straps and stiletto heel of this sandal are gorgeous, but the rubber “tire-track” bottom is just bizarre and clumsy looking. Maybe I’m just too old? I imagine someone young and hip could pull them off, but I definitely don’t think these sandals are for most people, and they certainly aren’t timeless!

These sandals appeal to everything that is girly in me! They make me want to put on a sundress and skip through the park with flowers in my hair. Well, not really … but I do love them!! I think they would be gorgeous with a black cocktail or evening dress or you could save them for sundresses next spring! They are definitely timeless.

It definitely takes a special girl to pull these off. They are a low-cut boot, which cuts the line of the leg, and they have a kitten heel, adding no height to the line. AND then they are bright, shiny, red patent leather. You're not hiding from anyone in these babies ... but if you do take a walk on the wild side, I'd pair your pair with something simple like a black dress. Let the shoes speak for themselves.
Christian Louboutin Patent Leather Bootie Available Fall 2008
Ok these are to die for. Purple, check. Suede, check. Amazing, check. I love the upper ruching detail, and the two-toned purple adds a little dimension. I would do these with a sexy black number or a fun oversized tee/sweater dress ... depending on the weather.
Prada Shoe Booties $595 Saks
Nothing basic about these stunners... very similar to a pair of YSLs I just saw, at about the same price (a tad cheaper) and just as beautiful. I love the black slick patent leather in a flat boot, because it says "cat woman" without having to do death defying stunts (i.e. walking in stiletto boots!) I would pair these with a pair of leggings and a cute oversized sweater for fall (like a riding boot, but not.)

I reviewed a gorgeous Nicholas Kirkwood pump on Tuesday, and I talked about the artistry of his designs. This slingback uses the same satin and snakeskin, but it is definitely more artistic. I can appreciate that the form of this shoe is beautiful, but personally I wouldn’t wear them. I can, however, see a very confident women who takes fashion risks rocking tbem.

It’s odd, but Christian Louboutin’s shoes usually fall into two categories for me. I either absolutely adore them, or I absolutely hate them. And these shoes are in the latter category. I just feel like the pleated chiffon structure of the top of the shoe looks like giant insect wings. I would also be very concerned that the chiffon could easily tear or snag. There are so many gorgeous loubies out there that it would be a shame to waste your money on these!
