This summer due to our busy schedule, and for the first time since I have moved to the United States, I haven't been able to make my annual trip to France, my birth place .
Although the endeavor that keeps me in Los Angeles is my life-time commitment toward education for the children of Los Angeles, and to push a ballot that might change the face of our city, I still miss Paris.

How fabulous are these shoes!!! If I was going on a trip to an Island and could only take one pair of shoes, these fabulous flats would be my choice.
They would compliment anything from a bathing suit to a long chiffon dress and would make any shorts look like a million bucks...

The reason why I don't mention very often Chanel shoes, is because beside the classic ballet flat i am not a big fan.
However I find these "metallic gate" sandals quite interesting, I like the simple upper with the beige and black mix of color that has been Chanel trademark forever. But I have mix feelings when it comes to the charms and the golden "gate "heel.
I haven't seen these shoes in real life, but my feeling is there is too much gold going on, I will have liked a simpler version much better..

Are you serious? These may be the most adorable sandals I have seen yet this season. They have a very vintage feel to them and I love the square little heel. For some reason they make me think of "hello Kitty." These will be a hit in japan I can feel it...

Haute Couture week is in full speed in Paris, after the breathtaking Dior collection, the other designers are going to have a very difficult time to reach John Galliano's level of perfection.
The Chanel collection is elegant, timeless. Karl Lagerfeld seems to be pitching the Chanel image to a younger audience as every style is shorter. A lot of shell tones, drapes skirt, and beautiful plisse. However, the shoes are a bit disappointing, flats ,flats and more flats even to pair the evening dresses, I was looking forward to a more surprising collection with high heels and unexpected shoes.

These shoes are part of the Chanel cruise collection. They are so cute and retro... don't they remind you of the 50's when Rock'n Roll was in full swing and women were wearing those beautiful, flirty full skirts with large belts? Haha the good old days.....

It has been a while since I have seen a pair of Chanel shoes that have really held my attention. Well, I really like these Mary Janes... they have a retro look to them that reminds me of the 1920's "annees folles." Actually, they truly are tres Parisian.
These shoes would look amazing with anything pleated as well as with wide leg pants, but they can be easily paired with a simple black dress and a pair of black opaque stockings.

There's something about this Scottish style that just screams fall to me. Obviously a lot of designers felt the same way this season. Maybe it's the warm colors and thick fabrics.
