I am usually a big fan of Chloe, but since the departure of Phoebe Philo in 2006 the brand has lost a little bit of its fabulous elegance. Although their last shoe collection was still beautiful, something was missing.
And then I came across these absolutely ugly boots!! Most of the time simple is best, but obviously it was not what Paolo Melim Andersson (Chloe's recently ousted creative designer) had in mind when he designed these way-too-busy boots, or maybe we should blame Hannah MacGibbon (Chloe's new creative designer) for these?
Anyway, these boots make no sense! I especially dislike the wrap-around straps and the shiny bow. These boots are also supposed to be slouchy and the top can fold over to show the suede lining.

I am often asked what shoes women should wear when they want to be stylish, but also need to be comfortable. Let me tell you ladies, the answer is NOT athletic shoes! Yikes! However, wedges like these Chloe loafers are perfect! A good wedge is going to be as comfortable as a sneaker, but yet much more fashion forward! You should be able to walk all day in them with no problems.
These wedges make me excited for fall! They are super cute, especially the buckle detail and the wooden heel. Pairing these with jeans is a no brainer, but I also think they would look perfect with a tweed skirt and cream tights or really any trousers in the brown-to-cream family.
I was never a fan of the wedge boot, I felt it looked tacky and too trendy... But I'm kind of digging Chloe's take on the trend. The buckle detail is really cute yet sophisticated. I would love to see these for Fall with skinny jeans tucked in.
This sort of looks like an elf shoe, but not in the Keebler Elf sort of way, more like... a sexy elf (yes, I said it. Like Orlando Bloom in Lord of the Rings IMDb) The green suede is a nice alternative to all the red suede we've been seeing for fall. I would do these with a dress for sure, because I'd be afraid of wearing leggings for fear of actually looking like...well, an elf.

These shoes are evoking some childhood memories ... I'm feeling some Tiffany, maybe some Debbie Gibson ... definitely some '80s coming through on these. But what's not to love? The '80s had its charm and so do these sandals. Love the criss-cross straps and the random elastic band across the front of the foot. It adds a little flare. I would do these with a cute summery beachy dress or even skinny jeans (I know, everything with skinny jeans, but it's true!!)

Talk about art--what masterpieces! The detail and craftsmanship here is superb, not to mention the fashion factor. Absolutely beautiful! I love that Chloe is always pushing the envelope. It makes me smile to know there are designers doing it for the art of it all, and not the shock value or the recognition (or the money for that matter, but that's a whole other entry...).
Chloe Fall 2008
This is Chloe latest style for Spring 2008 collection, they are the continuation of the weird patent boots-sandals that has been Chloe's spring trademark.
These boots -sandals shoes are really best sellers and I know a lot of fashionistas that swear by them, but I really don't like them. However I love these cute two straps sandals, they are simple chic , I love the large buckle .These shoes are easy to match. with almost everything.

I actually wrote an entry about these cute Chloe shoes about a week ago -- and yesterday, as I was waiting for my 16 year-old daughter (who spent her afternoon in the Intermix store dressing room endlessly trying clothes on) I spoted these shoes.There is a little Japanese feel to these shoes mixed with a 'little girl' look that I really like.
They look fabulous on and they are extremely comfortable, so I bought them. I wore them today with a little beige button-up satin skirt and a white T-shirt, and I got so many compliments. These shoes will look even better if you threat your tootsie with O.P.I.'s "Lunch at the Delhi" nail polish. (O.P.I.)

I have to say, I'm not too fond of these platform wedge pumps. They leave much to be desired; the brown is yawn worthy and what is up with the unflattering cut around the ankle? No one in their right mind would wear these because no matter what, they cut off the line of the leg and make you look thicker. What happened to pretty shoes?! Sometimes it seems as if designers feel in order to be different they must make really outlandish styles. Don't they know that looking to classic styles for inspiration is smart? Because let's face it, they WORK!

As I was looking for a pair of navy purple shoes, I came across these Chloe sandals. I love their sleek look and their cone heel which they craft without excessive shape.
These shoes shoes will match almost everything. Actually, I just bought a printed Prada skirt that will look amazing with these shoes. I am so excited... I can't wait to get them.
Hopefully they will be more on the navy side than the purple. This story is to be continued....
