I have mixed feelings when it comes to these sandals. I loved them on the runway with the matching outfit, but now I am not sure what to pair them with.
Tyler thinks they are hideous, but I am still undecided. What do you think?

Tyler is right, they're really ugly. I think it is the mix of the gold plating and the purple suede along the bottom of the platform. It just looks contrived, an unfortunate case of 'bling for effect' rather than artistic purpose.
The only thing I can say is the shoes looked better in the runway, but they feel bulky and heavy, and I agree I don't like the gold part too much.

I can imagine why you liked them in motion on the runway, the gold would probably be more of a sexy flash, and there would be enough purple to make a statement, on an exuberant Dior runway the shoes need all the statement they can find :) . I do like the front of the shoe, it is a neat interpretation of a t-strap, but I can't get past the gold plates glued to that angular cut out wedge, maybe if the shoe had been a standard platform, the back lines of the shoe and heel wouldn't seem so agressive.
I agree, oh well these shoes are not the everyday shoes for sure, but yes in the mist of the Dior runaway and with the extraordinary "mise en scene" that John Galliano masters they looked great.
However I agree taken out of the context they look akward .

Love the color purple! Not sure what to wear the shoe with! Not sure I could walk to well in them, either. They are different! I am sure they did look great on the runway. Would def not wear them to my local Starbucks! Fun posting!
Yes the color is gorgeous, I am not sure about the shoe style, they look bulky, however they looked amazing on the runway.
Actually if you wear at your local Starbucks you will be surely getting a lot of attention.

I like these a lot. VERY funky & unique. You don't need anything else, just dress simply & put these on...instant upgrade. These shoes ARE the outfit...I could wear them with a lot of stuff...
I loved them on the runway but I am not sure how they translate into real life, I haven't seen them on yet.

I think they are a gorgeous piece of designing. However, I'm not liking the gold/ purple combo. I would really love to see them in a black/ silver combo instead think they would be much classier looking.
