Paris Haute Couture Week Round-up

This summer due to our busy schedule, and for the first time since I have moved to the United States, I haven't been able to make my annual trip to France, my birth place .

Although the endeavor that keeps me in Los Angeles is my life-time commitment toward education for the children of Los Angeles, and to push a  ballot  that might change the face of our city, I still miss Paris.

In July,  Paris feels like an endless party soaked in Champagne and beauty. And the world holds its breath (at least the fashionistas and the magazine editors) as Haute Couture Fashion Week unfolds.

John Galliano's collection for Dior "bien sur" is one of my favorite shows. As usual, he has come up with a spectacular show that John Galliano himself calls "fresh couture." Style.com

Dior Haute Couture Fall 2008/09. Some of the shoes are a replay of Spring 2008, but they are still gorgeous.

Chanel Fall 2008-09 was really astonishing, however the shoes remain extremely classic and chic. Tres Paris, and, of course, tres Chanel!

For Givenchy Riccardo Tisci seems to have found a new character and confidence of his own. Although, I am not a huge fan of these weird boots.

Although the trend seems to head toward sobriety, Christian Lacroix remains faithful to his style, and addresses an audience, who could only live in a Lacroix world.

Georgio Armani's collection for Armani Prive  illustrates what he does best--old school glamour mixed with minimalism.
