So these were my find at Saks 10022 (an early birthday present!!) and I have to tell you, I have never had a more comfortable shoe in my life. I had been obsessing over these pumps (because lord knows nothing hooks me like an ankle cuff!) for quite a while, but I feared they would be some rare form of torture to wear. They literally hug the foot and what's better than a hug for your bday?
I'm going to wear these here at Fashion week, maybe for the Boucheron party, with this adorable Some Odd Rubies strapless number (a glimmering, nude and silver tiger print... so pretty!!)

After a long long long journey (our flight was delayed five hours thanks to Hurricane Hanna) we finally made it to the big apple at 2 am.
Nevertheless, we were up and wired on black coffee, ready to take on the city. First stop, Saks Fifth Avenue's shoe departement with its own zip code .

Saks is celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Wizard of OZ by displaying a collection of ruby slippers by many different designers.

Although the shoe departement is famed to be one of a kind, we were not totally impressed by the shoe selection. When you have almost every shoe at the click of a mouse, it's hard to be impressed by a store. However, we managed to buy some shoes.
Videos of our trip are after the jump.
Though I clearly see these are fabulous, I have a problem with the d'orsay style. I feel like I'm always one step away from stepping out of the shoe. I've owned one pair of d'orsay and never wore them because of said problem. Regardless of comfort (not sure if I should really be disregarding comfort but oh well!) these are very cutting edge, and I can't deny my obsession with neutral, earthy-toned patent leathers. You could pair these with any dress or skirt (I'm envisioning a cobalt blue mini I just saw at Diavolina here in LA.)

Now this is a sexy shoe! I’m not sure I could pull these Gianvito Rossi pumps off, but there’s no denying that they are super hot and would look fabulous on someone with long, super skinny legs! I really like the pointed toe on this shoe, and the touch of metal on the heel is very sleek.

Fall is the obvious time for boots, so it can be a challenge to stand out from the crowd. However, these are definitely show stoppers. Love the color, love the shape and the leather-to-suede design is a nice touch. I'd do these with dark denim skinny jeans tucked in or a baby doll shaped dress.

Do you remember when Gianvito Rossi made it to our Designers to Watch list back in December? Well, the spring shoe collection seems to keep its promise with a line of beautiful shoes. I particularly love these patent "gladiator" sandals; they are sleek and sexy with that twist of Italian elegance.
These shoes will compliment any outfit -- they can go from super classic (paired with a suit or just a "sahariene" dress or even with a simple canvas skirt and white T-shirt) or can turn into a wild evening shoe (with a sexy mini tunic type dress or tight skinny pants).
I just love them! To me, they are a spring absolute must have. The only negative side of these shoes is their extremely high price tag. Oh well, they are a classic, after all, non?

Son of master "shoeman"Sergio Rossi, Gianvito Rossilauched his own shoe collection last fall. His collection was elegant and classic, yet trendy. But the reason we love the shoes so much is that they are some of the most refined and studied we have seen this year; so much attention to detail. We expect and hope for that kind of attention from Italian artisans.
I particularly love these strappy patent wedges

Yellow is not an easy color to pull off, but Gianvito has achieved it by creating these patent leather yellow sandals. They can easily be paired with jeans, cocktail dresses and even an elegant evening wear.

Aside from being sweet and charming, Gianvito Rossi is also Sergio Rossi's son and a talented shoe designer to boot. Well, he learned the business the hard way -- from his dad.
It is also Gianvito to whom we owe all of the best designs of Sergio Rossi before they were bought out by Gucci. Gianvito has launched a line under his own name, and the shoes look great.
I love these patent strappy sandals. They are sleek, elegant and absolutely timeless. I love the mix of shiny red patent leather and the purple laquered wood. It adds a "Japanese Je ne sais quoi" to these shoes.
