Dior's Fall 2008 ready-to-wear collection must not have been as surprising as we expected , but John Galliano's Fall 2008 collection is a mix of tout et n'importe quoi.
The collection is colorful and excentric, ranging from orientalist to tramp-chic. Like it or not, this collection will brighten up the racks of blacks that we will be expecting for fall.

When I first heard of Ruthie Davis it was trough a comment posted on the blog after I wrote an entry about a pair of her shoes.
Then after investigating Ruthie's design a little more, I had the opportunity to meet her last week at the WSA.
Ruthie is not only a amazingly creative and talented designer, she has also a fabulous trend setter personality, the kind you remember. She reminds me of Vivienne Westwood.
I totally am in love with these pair of black patent mary jane, the laser cut upper and the architectural heel. So couture, the metal button detail adds a very hip touch to these timeless shoes.

When I say that Ruthie is a total trend setter , I just found these mary jane pump from non less than John Galliano RTW fall 2008, and they are so similar but Ruthie has her already in store, so......

Oh la la! Here comes another magnificent collection by the biggest fashion genius of all time. I am of course talking about John Galliano.
The Dior spring prêt-a-porter collection was already magnificent, but to see the haute couture show made my day. I have no words to express how magic this collection is. The fabrics, the drapes, the beading, the colors... I mean I get emotional.
I graduated from the École du Louvre with a PHD in fine art and seriously, no one but John Galliano has reached the level of perfection I have seen in the painting masterpieces that I have come to study.
I love these pink shoes.

I was talking to my mom on the phone (she lives in Paris)  and she was telling me that her and her boyfriend went to the Christian Dior store on avenue Montaigne and that it was magical. Everything was just magnificent and she was amazed not only by the beauty of the goods but also by the refinement of each and every detail on the clothing, the shoes and the accessories.
And I couldn't agree more with my mom: since John Galliano has taken over, he has restored the prestige and the creativity of the brand.
Since I have seen these shoes I have been obsessed with them, but unfortunately so far they are nowhere to be found!!! They were available for pre- order for a split second on the Saks web-site and they disappeared. But finally today I've found them .
I know these sandals are probably not the best purchase when it comes to practicality, but they are just amazingly beautiful, original and so sexy......

Winter is not even in full swing, but already we are getting a glimpse at what the spring shoes will look like. I love these Dior blue angel pumps. They are classic with a hint of craze which is what John Galliano masters with such elegance. These shoes will look beautiful with skirts and chiffon dresses. I would even wear them simply with jeans.
Dior 'Blue Angel" spectator sandals.
For fall, the Richelieu shoes are making a huge come back. These classic shoes were named after the famous cardinal de Richelieu, Prime Minister of France under Louis XIII [richelieu]. However they are coming back with a totally new look, featuring a round toe and a huge array of color.

Don't you love these mary janes? They look so sexy. The mesh upper adds a "Je ne sais quoi." They are defintely following the mood set by John Gallian for Dior haute couture show in Paris in the 1900's. Tres tres chic!

I don't know which color I like the most? but the beige look fabulous.
Here we go. It's another season and yet another fabulous collection from Mr. Galliano for Christian Dior.
The shoes are breathtaking, what creativity. I am totally obsessed with these sandals
And here is a closer look at these pink beauties, they are just so eccentric. They seem un- wearable by the average women. Actually, a very well informed friend of mine and fashion goddess who was at the Dior show, told me that the models on the runway could barely walk in these shoes. We can understand why!!!!
Everything is just fantastic from the colors to the shapes. The shoes above are magnificent.
Quelle elegance!" Mr. Dior you must be so proud, John Galliano really lives up to your the high standards.
These are the craziest shoes ever, where do you find those ideas Mr. Galliano? Every season you find the way to blow our minds.

These blue sandals are just the cutest ever. They are absolutely out of this world.
We haven't started to wear our spring and summer shoes and yet the fashion magazine pages are full with the fall collection. So let's take a look at what we will be wearing next season. Here we have Balenciaga's new version of a cow boy boot. I really like these shoes; their really pointy upper, huge platform and at least 10 inch stiletto heel make those boots interesting. I am not sure how easy to wear they will be but they are fun to look at .
From Balenciaga: these metallic leather bubble sandals, are very similar to the boots showed previously. These shoes have a little too much going on, but I am not sure they will ever see the shoe departments.
Balenciaga ready to wear fall 2007. I love the look and the boots.

As usual John Galliano has come up this fall with another very spectacular and eccentric show, completely inspired by the Parisian street of Pigalle. The models are dressed as if they were coming directly from an Emile Zola book, emphasazing the heavy make up"the bouche en coeur
I love these insane red red shoes because they are fabulous especially with an all black look, very dramatic.
Nothing major on Alexander Mcqueen's side, I like this elegant and simple platform pump.
How magnificent are these red Lanvin patent pumps? I love the heel and the platforms, and the color is also so chic.
The knee boots are still very present in the runaway. They always are a good classic to have, they look perfect with mini skirts and short dresses.
Lanvin: black patent knee boots
Louis Vuitton :patent croc embossed pump .E.luxury
Very cute rond toe pump, I like these pumps, they are really cute with skirts and pants.

Louis Vuitton
wine croc ankle boots fabulous with skirts, dresses. I love the button side embelishement.
Miu Miu :beige leather pump, actually I will call these shoes "petite marquises"because they remind me of Marie Antoinette.
Miu Miu tri- colored pump, I am not crazy about these, the toe is a little too round, and it's a little to much going on color wise.
Nina Ricci: lace up pump. These shoes are funny they have a very casual look, but the lace up can give a dressy look as well. The only thing I do not like about these shoes is the thingy on the side.
Once on the while the best designer come up with the weirdest shoe ever, I think this is one of those shoe mistake, the Roger Vivier design team has created this weird shoe who seems coming directly from king Tut's century Truth be told lace up looks better on skinny legs, otherwise beware of stumpy legs.
Sergio Rossi :gold and black sequined platform slingback.I like these sandals, the shoe constuction is interessting, the upper is elegant.Since Sergio Rossi have been part of the Gucci group, they lost their momentum, hopefully Edmundo Castillo the new artistic director will be able to bring back the old spirit.
Versace:napa leather aperture boots, not much to say about these strange shoes, besides I am really not a fan.
