After a week of insane running around during Fashion Week, my feet and ankles were so swollen from standing and walking on 100mm heels from day to night that I had to wear flats. These super cute Lanvin ballet flat are my feet's heroes! Not only are they super comfortable, but they come in a wide array of colors and materials, which are all super fashionable. I bought them in purple patent leather and navy blue leather, and have worn them all the time.
These shoes are easy to pair with anything from jeans to dresses, and shorts to skirts. They are a must have for fall or any other season. And, yes they are expensive, but the truth is they are timeless shoes that will remain in style for a long time and can be worn any season with tights or barefoot.
Lanvin Patent Ballet Flat $500 Barneys

Last week we discussed the importance of a classic black pump. If you missed it, you can read it here. And now we continue our series on Building a Shoe Wardrobe with the ballet flat.
Adorable. These remind me of a pair of Christian's I wore for my senior prom, so maybe I have a bias towards them... regardless they are really feminine and undeniably pretty. I love the shape of the heel and the open toe. These get an A+. Definitely a "flirty dress" shoe.
Lanvin Bow Pumps $1040 Barneys

As I went rushing to Barneys to find some dresses that I could wear at two press conferences that I am going to attend this coming week for my charity APCH and for Mothers Against Gang Violence, I came across these magnificent Lanvin pumps.
I knew I had to have them! Although they are a little pricey, these shoes are the pinnacle of elegance and sexiness. I love the fact that they also are timeless, which explains my need to buy them!
I will wear them with everything! Seriously they can be worn from morning to night with no problem, and they can be dressed down by pairing them with jeans or skinny pants.
Lanvin Peep-Toe Platform Pump $1,005 Barneys

I usually adore Lanvin shoes. They are sexy, but still chic and timeless at the same time. So my expectations run very high when it comes to the fall collection!
However with these boots, I am kind of facing a fashion dilema! Do I like them or not? A part of me likes them, but the other part of me is saying "Are you crazy girl?! These boots suck!"
Lanvin Patent Knee Boots $995 Barneys

As much as I love sky-high stilettos, there are times when they are not the best choice. I used to shop in them or walk the airport, and I’ve finally come to my senses after aching feet and sprained ankles! But, being comfortable does not mean losing my sense of style! I also had the pleasure of meeting Bridget Assil of Madison (read Florence’s exclusive interview). After hearing her and Florence rave about Lanvin ballerinas and seeing how cute they were, I just couldn’t resist. I bought a pair of the white leather, but in truth I wanted them all!

Adding a twist to a classic shape, Lanvin decided to add a little heel and slingback to its ballet flat, creating a slingback mule of sorts. I really like these shoes, I just wonder what they would look like on me. I would do them with a flowy floral number because these shoes need something ultra feminine.
Lanvin Cracked Metallic Slingback $730.00- Barneys
I know the first time I came across these Lanvin shoes, I totally freaked out! I was like "WTF is that?" Although I still believe these shoes are a little too much, I have to admit that they have kind of grown on me. Not that I will wear them on a daily basis, (or wear them at all) but they could be really cute with jeans and chiffon peasant dresses.
And maybe the edgiest girls out there of all of us will dare to wear these shoes with skinny pants, or with leggings in a very Japanese way.
Lanvin Double Buckle Platform $1,365.00 Barneys

With this beautiful platform peep toe pump, It seems like Lanvin has definitely made up for the disappointing Fall 2007 (I'm referring to the Lanvin patent leather pump that looked so hot on the runway and translated so poorly in real life).
I love the sleek and elegant look of these shoes, the square heel perfectly balances the platform for total comfort; these shoes are timeless.
They can easily go from day to night without any problems. I would pair them with jeans for a casual look and with a black dress for a cocktail party.

But for those of you who aren't ready to drop so much money, here is a fabulous, very similar-looking pair of shoes.
They are also in a deep navy blue crinkled patent leather with metallic hardware, but their price is much lower at $325.00.
Whatever the choice, both shoes are hot and trendy and will make a statement anywhere you wear them!
