As much I was not crazy about the Maison Martin Margiela nail heel pump, I love the knee high boots. They are sexy, sleek, but still funky.

The nail heel compliments the simple look of these boots perfectly. They will look fabulous with pencil skirts or simply with a fitted dress.

On September 29 of this year, Maison Martin Margiela turned 20 years old. The label is synonymous with the Belgian-born designer, who through the years has preferred anonymity to star status, letting his works speak for himself.

Margiela got his start in the 80s working for Jean Paul Gaultier and has mastered a deconstructive approach to fashion design.

To me these boots are as fresh and crisp as a garden in a spring time. I like them...not that I would wear them, but I know some gals, who would easily pull them off. They remind me of the 70s, and they would look great with any kind of chiffon dress, or ankle length skirts. These boots are made for a chic boho type of girl.

Sometimes I feel like designers try so hard to be original that it can turn into major disasters! I know it's not easy to find inspiration, but seriously these shoes are absolutely weird, and they look painful!! I understand that the new trend is to borrow everything from our men like boyfriend jeans, boy shorts, or even boyfriend shirts. But truly whatever happens in Home Depot should stay in Home Depot... especially when it comes to their tool boxes.

Christian Louboutin was the first one to introduce cork shoes in his collection, and as much as I adore Christian Louboutin's designs, this trend was really not my fave, unless you wanted to end up looking like a discarded Champagne bottle after a heavy night -- I strongly advise against it!

One question runs through my mind when I look at these boots...I wonder if they swell up when wet. Boots are supposed to be worn when it rains, right? And cork swells up when wet, right? You do the math!!

Anyway, my advice is avoid these shoes at all costs, especially if you plan to attend the next AA meeting swearing to god that you have been sober for six months!
