Hosted by Florence & Serge Azria

For you, who are familiar with this blog, my involvement with child education is no secret, so when I was asked to join councilwomen in their crusade to prevent our youth from joining gangs and to make Los Angeles a safer place, I felt it was my duty as a mother to jump on board.

On Wednesday August 13, we launched  the campaign for "Mothers Against Gang
Violence."

LOS ANGELES- On Wednesday August 13th, Florence (The Shoe Goddess Network) and her husband Serge Azria (Joie, Current Elliott) hosted a private charity benefit for Mothers Against Gang Violence at their Beverly Hills Home. The MAGV measure stands to benefit programs such as LA’s Best, A Placed Called Home, and many other organizations that help give at-risk youth a place to learn skills that will help them lead productive lives and partake in recreational activities in a safe environment. The evening feted prominent members of the community including Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villarigosa, Forest & Keisha Whittaker, Max & Lubov Azria, Carla Sanger and City Councilwomen Janice Hahn, Wendy Greuel and Jan Perry. Jewelry designer Monique Pean created a one of kind MAGV signature bracelet that was featured in a silent auction during the evening. The piece, constructed of 18-carat recycled gold and will depict mothers and children holding hands and while abstractly portraying two people joined together by an asymmetrical conflict and devastation free diamond.
