I have mixed feelings when it comes to these boots. The damask velvet fabric makes me believe that these boots were made from what was leftover of curtains from Saddam Hussein's palaces, but I like the overall look and the curved wedge heel (tres rock 'n roll). So, what would you pair with these boots? Any suggestions?

Desirable: Nicholas Kirkwood Hidden Pearl Black Pumps
Whether we like them or not, Nicholas Kirkwood shoes are truly pieces of art, and these fabulous black pumps are no exception. I love the hidden pearl. lt reminds me of a Chanel Haute Joaillerie ring I have, which features small stripes of black and white diamonds in a rounded shape hiding a white pearl underneath.
For me, those pumps represent the height of sophistication and refinement. Hopefully, they will be in store soon.

I wore these pumps all day long, while shopping for school supplies with my youngest daughter, and guess what? They are super comfortable! It almost felt like I was wearing my slippers. So comfort, style and a good price! Isn't that a winning ticket for fall?

Repulsive: Lesilla Low Jewel Boot
These boots seem to come straight from the movie Saturday Night Fever! Pretty scary! But wait until you see the price!

Oxford booties remain strong this fall. They have walked off the runway to meet our urban lives, and I love them!
Back in France, we used to call this style "Richelieu" probably in tribute to the Cardinal de Richelieu better know for his leading role in the Alexandre Dumas novel The Three Musketeers.
Anyway, I will pair these babies with chic, pleated pants or with dresses. Another option is a pencil skirt and white blouse for a "femme fatale" look.

I am so excited! This year, Hilary and I will be attending Fashion Week in NYC!! We also have a lot of meetings with designers to preview their Spring '09 shoe collections, and we will be attending a whole bunch of parties. So my problem is what to pack and what to wear.
Although I am pretty well stocked when it comes to shoes, believe it or not, I never bring the ones I need. So I always end up buying more!
I have already set my eyes on these absolutely gorgeous Marni metallic pumps. I bought a similar pair in a metallic purple color, and they are so chic, yet still sexy. I wonder how long I will be able to resist these!
I love the red metallic color--so hot! I can totally picture them with a cute flirty brown dress, or with black, or....basically everything! Ughhhh ... should I? Should I not ? What a cruel dilemma!
Marni Metallic Peep-Toe Pumps $705 Net-a-Porter

The first time I came across these boots, I thought they were interesting, but now I am totally obsessed with them. I love the delicate mix of leather and suede, and the leaf detail adds a very couture feel to these elegant boots.
But I can't believe how expensive they are!!! If I buy them, I will be a dead woman by the time they arrive. However, since dreaming is free, I can totally picture them with cute little dresses and skinny jeans. If I was going to buy them, I would surely go for the gray. Although the white is fabulous, for that kind of money, gray is a safer buy.

I usually adore Yves Saint Laurent shoes, but I have a difficult time understanding what statement these jagged platform pumps are trying to make? Maybe somehow these shoes are a tribute to our troops? Or maybe they are just designed to meet the needs of women living in the urban jungle?

I think what I like the most about these sandals is their Marni look (at a cheaper price). I like the sleek look and glossy patent, not to mention the beautiful color. They are definitely a fall must-have, especially at this price!

Repulsive: Robert Clergerie CrissCross Mule
I think I am having a nightmare!! These shoes seems to come straight from Silas's closet (the masochist and somewhat psychopath albino monk from the Da Vinci Code). So, unless you plan on joining the Opus Dei soon, avoid these shoes at all costs!

Once upon a time, I came across a fabulous pair of shoes, and I felt like a princess...oh well... if I buy these Miu Miu sandals, I might get served with divorce papers!!!
Anyway, these sandals are totally beautiful. I love the color and their simple feel. The sophistication comes from the jeweled heel. You can wear these shoes with a fabulous evening dress, or simply with pants that will cover the heel and dress the shoe down.

They can be easily paired with basically any kind of outfit, from fitted dresses to casual denim pants. This pair is definitely a must have for fall!

Mothers Against Gang Violence Charity Benefit
Hosted by Florence & Serge Azria
For you, who are familiar with this blog, my involvement with child education is no secret, so when I was asked to join councilwomen in their crusade to prevent our youth from joining gangs and to make Los Angeles a safer place, I felt it was my duty as a mother to jump on board.
On Wednesday August 13, we launched the campaign for "Mothers Against Gang
Violence."
Who: Mayor Antonio Villarigosa, Keisha Whittaker, Max & Lubov Azria, City Council members Janice Han, Jan Perry, Wendy Greuel, Judy Tenuta (Comedienne), Sterling Beaumon (Lost, Mostly Ghostly), Daniel Maltzman (Contemporary Artist), Johnny Wimbrey
What: Charity Benefit for Mothers Against Gang Violence

Beverly Hills, CA 90210
LOS ANGELES- On Wednesday August 13th, Florence (The Shoe Goddess Network) and her husband Serge Azria (Joie, Current Elliott) hosted a private charity benefit for Mothers Against Gang Violence at their Beverly Hills Home. The MAGV measure stands to benefit programs such as LA’s Best, A Placed Called Home, and many other organizations that help give at-risk youth a place to learn skills that will help them lead productive lives and partake in recreational activities in a safe environment. The evening feted prominent members of the community including Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villarigosa, Forest & Keisha Whittaker, Max & Lubov Azria, Carla Sanger and City Councilwomen Janice Hahn, Wendy Greuel and Jan Perry. Jewelry designer Monique Pean created a one of kind MAGV signature bracelet that was featured in a silent auction during the evening. The piece, constructed of 18-carat recycled gold and will depict mothers and children holding hands and while abstractly portraying two people joined together by an asymmetrical conflict and devastation free diamond.
